“Random Angel, CoolBoy STud and 69 others voiced their opinions about Free Basics. You can too! “
Bull Crap! Please do not fall in the trap of Facebook by getting attracted towards notifications like “Act now to save Free Basics in India.” A humble request, please, DO NOT ACT, if you don’t know the full picture. Facebook has conned millions and millions of people and still continuing it’s quest. Don’t be a blind sheep. Be a smart Netizen.

We all can see a huge media outrage towards Free Basics and Facebook’s new campaigning strategy.
WHAT IS FREE BASICS? And why you must boycott it?
There was a statement in Times of India (this Wednesday), “Facebook is selling old wine (Internet.org) in a new bottle (Free Basics), users be aware.”
“According to Facebook, it is an open platform that gives Indian developers the opportunity to make their services and websites available free of cost to those who cannot afford internet access. However, this free access is limited to partner websites and applications. It was launched two years ago globally in partnership with Samsung, Ericsson, MediaTek, Opera Software, Nokia and Qualcomm.” [source]
So, does it sound good to you? Well, hold on. Here comes the reality-part. Contratry to what it claims, it doesn’t offer equal and unbiased access to all services. Facebook is partnering with ISPs to preferential selective access to a set of developers and services. They argues that internet should be free and equal for all users but at the same time their policies hinder the concept of Net Neutrality. Seems Facebook has a narrow definition of “openness”. Facebook wants to have a monopoly in the internet world. To me, it sounds like, Facebook wants to establish e-Dictatorship!
Net Neutrality, in simpler terms, means, anyone from anywhere around the world should be able to access or provide services and contents on the internet without any discrimination.
With such a filthy campaigning strategy, Facbook, in simpler words, saying, “Dekh tere saare dost chahte hai ki gareebo ko internet mile. Tu email nhi bhejega matlab tu nhi chahta ki gareeb internet chalaye. Tu society ka EVIL hai re! “
Facebook has spent huge amount on advertisements on bill boards, YouTube ads, Print ads. Funnily, Times of India, who was spreading awareness against Free Basics and supports Net Neutrality, had two full scape advertisements by Facebook about how so called Net Neutrality activists are misleading people and Benefits of Free Basics. Inundated with disingenuous appeals, no stones left unturned. Certainly, Facebook feels threatened because Indians are not foolish as they must have expected. Even Facebook President for India is responding to each and every criticism he is facing on twitter trying to justify their worthless and self-empowering actions. In the advertisements Facebook has mentioned 10 points that why Free basics is an actual benefit for the public but, dear readers, don’t fall in the trap. All their claims are maliciously plotted and facts have been twisted. I can go on about the details here in brief but we need to act first and save our internet, the power of youth, and show Facebook and his team that we are no fools. After all, we are the world’s greatest democracy for some reason.
The internet is the final bastion of free speech, communication, and, sharing of ideas. It shall bestep in to the realms of shackles if Net Neutrality is impinged. It is better to rebel than to opt for slavery. Net freedom is the flag symbolising the freedom of spirit and must be guarded to the last ounce of people’s strength.
HOW TO SAVE THE INTERNET?
That’s simple but we need to act fast. we need to act in numbers. We need to ACT NOW!
Go to the website www.SaveTheInternet.in Do as directed. You need to send an email( which is already pre-written there) to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) . Just copy-paste the email and send it to the given address, which is advisorfea1@trai.gov.in .
Yeah sure, read the email carefully. I want you to understand it thoroughly. You don’t need to blindly send any email. Just don’t do anything STUPID simply because your notification says so! (That’s Facebook job to con users.)
TRAI has given the DEADLINE which is 7th January, 2016! WE MUST NOT FAIL!
For us, this protest is similar to Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s protest against westerners. We also need to cry out the slogans, “Net Neutrality is my Birth Right and I will have it!” and, “Free Basics , GO BACK!”
