2 days before Navratra.
Lazy morning.
No tuition today.
While cleaning up the mess of my room I found my old 8 bit gaming console and some cassettes too. Yeah some dusting was required and took half an hour for all that set up but finally it was all done. After playing “Super Mario Bros.” for about one hour I made a cold coffee for myself. Then some Duck Hunt with that revolutionary digital gun.
Remembered me the days, spending whole noon playing that stuffs when we were still kids. Me and my best buddy Harsh. Hours and hours playing that 8 bit. Then moving on to Spiderman Vs Venom 100 piece puzzle and how we hated when Bony and Choti destroy it when we were about to accomplish our mission. Yeah! Lego Starwars and Battleship games as well and next day playing Batman The Board Game where Harsh never let me chose Batman and I was always given Ninja Robbers to play.
Evening.
My mum sent me to buy a couple of tiles for Bony’s some artwork. I walked through the street. Pandal for puja was being prepared. Bamboos were installed but the structure wasn’t covered yet. I looked at its chequered roof and found Harsh, Kush, Saarang, Tinku and Tony up there hanging and jumping from bamboo to bamboo. Abhirath was down at the base looking up and there I was at a distance, trying to climb up to reach them. Just when I approached myself, it faded with a breeze. As if it was a 3D dream. The memories were so strong that I could actually see it live. Happening. Nostalgic.
And all I could say, ” Days! Gone with the wind”
“How sad and bad and mad it was- but then, how it was sweet.”- Robert Browning
